The Romanesque Church of Adeganha, also known as the Church of Saint James the Greater or Adeganha Parish Church, was probably built in the thirteenth century, possibly reusing an earlier religious structure. It retains a late Romanesque layout, with a longitudinal plan and a pointed main portal formed by three decorated archivolts. An unusual relief depicting three female figures on the façade is frequently interpreted as a childbirth scene. The exterior also preserves anthropomorphic and zoomorphic corbels. Conservation work revealed important remains of mural painting. The church has been classified as a National Monument since 1944.
